Elijah's Cafe: Comfort Food at Its Finest in Woodville, TX

I always have liked this restaurant whether it’s in woodville, Jasper, or Kirbyville! Always clean, well lit but not too bright. Food is delicious. Fam fans are sweet heat catfish, CFC w/baked potatoes, and chicken and dumpling w/ coffee of fried okra! And don’t forget the chicken pot pie day! Blackberry cobbler and vanilla bean ice cream yummo!

Amazing food , delicious , home made , fresh ingredients and loved the chicken fried chicken with white gravy -the gravy was authentic home made , you have to try the onion rings - large portion and delicious . the tea was so good and refreshing - had to take one to go . Try the sweet apples with cinnamon so warm and delicious , the okra also was perfectly cooked . And most of all the staff so kind and genuine , especially Diana - she was the best waitress - funny and kind and always asking us if everything was good or if we needed more tea . So what are you waiting for , come on Down to Elijah”s Cafe **** It’s worth the drive and this small beautiful town *****God Bless

We ordered the chicken fried steak and fried catfish. Both were really good, seasoned well & cooked fresh to order. That chicken fried steak was amazing!! Our waitress was a sweetheart & kept checking on us as well.

It serves homestyle American cooking, including grilled and fried seafood, salads, and homemade soups.⭐ Food is absolutely delicious. Great portions of food and great prices. Wonderful Friendly customer service always attentive to there guests. Definitely recommend! A great place to stop and visit in your travels..

Stopped by during holiday travels. LOVED IT. Just good ole comfort food. Daily specials. Catfish fillets were huge and tasty!! I had the chicken pot pie, squash casserole and turnip greens, and it was all delicious. 10/10 would eat here again. Nice casual atmosphere.

STOPPED FOR A LATE LUNCH WHILE PASSING THROUGH. CUTE PLACE AND WAS PRETTY BUSY. AFTER ORDERING DRINKS AND AN APPETIZER (BACON CHEESE FRIES WERE DELICIOUS), WHICH BOTH CAME OUT IN A TIMELY MANNER, WE ORDERED 4 MEALS. GLAD WE ORDERED AN APPETIZER BECAUSE WE HAD TO WAIT WELL OVER 40 MINUTES IF NOT MORE FOR OUR FOOD. OUR WAITRESS DID CHECK ON US SEVERAL TIMES AND TRIED TO UPDATE US ON OUR FOOD. AGAIN IT WASN'T AN ISSUE BECAUSE WE SAW THEY WERE BUSY. OUR WAITRESS DID COME OVER AND OFFER US COMPLIMENTARY CHIPS AND SALSA WHICH WE DECLINED AS WE HAD ALREADY EATEN OUR APPETIZER. THE FOOD CAME OUT AND WE ALL THOUGHT IS WAS REALLY GOOD. WHILE CHECKING OUT WE MENTIONED TO THE CASHIER ABOUT WAITING A LONG TIME FOR OUR FOOD AND TOLD HER ABOUT THE WAITRESS OFFERING US A COMPLIMENTARY APPETIZER BUT THAT WE HAD ALREADY HAD ONE....THAT MAYBE THEY COULD COMP THAT OR OUR DRINKS INSTEAD. SHE WAS VERY SWEET AND SAID OH YEAH LET ME GO GET THE MANAGER. WELL OUR WAITRESS WALKED UP SAYING SHE WAS THE MANAGER. HER TONE WAS CONDISENDING AND KEPT ASKING US IF WE HAD AN ISSUE. WE TOLD HER NO IT WAS GREAT BUT THAT INSTEAD OF OFFERING US ANOTHER APPETIZER AFTR WE ALREADY HAD ONE, MAYBE COMP OUR EXISTING APPETIZER OR DRINKS. HAVING WORKED IN FOOD SERVICE IN THE PAST, I AM AWARE OF HOW THINGS WORK AND HOW YOU SHOULD ACT. WE WERE VERY UNDERSTANDING ABOUT IT ALL....EXCEPT HER ATTITUDE. SHE WAS ACTING NICE BUT HER TONE AND BODY LANGUAGE WERE SAYING OTHERWISE. SHE STATED THAT WE DID COME AT LUNCH RUSH, NOT SURE THAT MATTERS BUT WE WENT AROUND 1:30 AND ABOUT 10 MINUTES AFTER WE GOT THERE ALOT OF THE TABLES FINISHED AND LEFT. IF YOUR GONNA BE A MANAGER JUST DO BETTER AND MAYBE TRY BEING GENUINELY NICE TO YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS. REGARDLESS, WE DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE:)

2/7/26 Saturday 12:30pm.. From Houston, out here visiting my mother in law. I looked this place up and read the reviews. I don’t see how Elijah’s Cafe has bad reviews. Our experience was excellent. The food was amazing and our waiter was very attentive. The chicken fried steak was freaking good! Everything had so much flavor. Definitely will be one of our stopping points when we are in town over here. Thank you all at Elijah’s for the wonderful food.
